It’s an age old question, is it not? That with the new year one should get a new computer? I firmly believe so, or atleast every 3 or 4 years anyway.

I just upgraded machines, actually haven’t completed the leap but purchased a new box. I have finally taken a step away from my (knock on wood) trusy dual 800 Mhz. G4 tower, and purchased a dual 2.7 Ghz G5 PowerMac with a sweet arsonel of features:

- 512MB DDR400 SDRAM ##- hmmm, which will need to be upgraded
- 250GB Serial ATA ## might need a new back up drive for this baby!
- 16x SuperDrive (double-layer) ##- now, that’s fast
- Three PCI Slots ##- ok, room to expand
- ATI Radeon 9650 ##- yes, it’ll power a 30″ Apple Display when I have a couple grand to drop down, but it won’t handle my already owned 22″ Apple Display with an ADC jack
