I Made The Leap: 30-inch LCD Monitor

Filed under: techNews — admin @ 6:07 pm

Although it hasn’t arrived yet, I bought myself a Christmas present. Actually, my company bought a christmas present. It hasn’t arrived yet, so I can’t say too much about it. So a few days ago I AM Presentations bought the 30″ Apple Display. My brother has purchased a couple of 30″ displays from Small Dog Electronics but realized they were just too big for him, so he returned them.

Apple had relisted some 30″ displays on their refurb list at $300 less the original price, so I had to pounce. I received a confirmation from Apple that they shipped the monitor today. Can’t wait to get the 30″ Apple Cinema Display next to my old 22″ Apple display. Now, that’s a trooper. If the 30″ lasts as long as my 22″ has (crossing fingers hoping 22″ never dies), I will be a real happy camper — er, coder, er whatever.

No Vista in 2006, or Leopards either

Filed under: techNews — admin @ 5:35 pm

The year is nearly over, the holiday shopping season upon us, and another year has passed with no upgrade of the Microsoft operating system, termed Vista. What does all this mean? Well, look for it next year because I’m quite sure it’ll be released and loaded with many bugged features. I don’t mean bugged to harp on Microsoft and the Windows team, but it’s expected to be laden with so many tricks and treats that they can’t all work perfectly.

Meanwhile, Apple has continued is steady expansion of the Unix based operating system — 10+. I expect Leopard to be out early next year, possibly at Macworld inwhich case it could be Microsoft to market. Leopard will make Apple Computer’s 5th major upgrade of the Unix based OS. What one will we see, or use first….?
